We the People”—the first words of the U.S. Constitution—proclaims a government by and for the people. The framers of the Constitution used this phrase to emphasize how important the people are to creating unity in America.
The framers considered the Constitution to be a guide encouraging Americans to work together despite not thinking alike. A key aspect of this guide is a win-win mentality. If a group doesn't win at the national level, that group could still win at the state/local level. Unfortunately, Americans have drifted into a win-lose mentality. To create unity, Americans need to return to this win-win mentality.
